Verizon Tips The Galaxy Nexus Price For USA: $199.99

Maintaining my past claims that Verizon is the king when it comes to “unofficial” leaks, it’s now time for the most Android device of the year: the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Until now we know almost everything about it, including its official specs, about ten rumored release dates and speculations when it comes to the price of the unlocked version. Now, surprisingly as it seems, a Verizon ad has surfaced the web disclosing the full price of the Galaxy Nexus, one based on a 2-year contract agreement.

As the ad below illustrates, the Galaxy Nexus will be sold by Verizon for no less than $199.99, a price well under our considerations. Taking note that this is not a regular Android phone launched with a different name every year by Motorola, but the latest offspring of an exclusive line designed by Google itself. As I was saying, it’s not a habit amongst these spheres to launch a top of the line device on a very, very accessible price. Although the ad advises this price to be applied on a 2-year agreement, signed with a contract that must include a data plan, we expected the smartphone to cost around $400, maybe even more.

If it were to be true, it would be a very bold move for Verizon and for the Nexus crew. But until officials come out of the closet we will rest our assumptions as more credible. No other vital information was disclosed from the poster, like the Galaxy Nexus release date. That’s if you were to disregard the free shipping part.

Another sign of the Galaxy Nexus came yesterday from the well-known retailer Expansys, which publicly announced to deliver the phone inside US borders. Pre orders are up for grabs as we speak buy even they are not familiarized with casual details like launch intervals or the price. It’s worth mentioning they will only distribute the unlocked version of the phone, Verizon currently holding exclusivity rights.

Speaking of intervals, we expect this to hit around December 8th, alongside other gadgets in the same market.

As for those who still don’t know a thing about this gadget, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus is the first phone to introduce Android 4.0 ( Ice Cream Sandwich ) right alongside a wonderful 4.65-inch wide display and a powerful dual-core processor. It will come with a regular 1GB of RAM for this time of year and two cameras: one in the back, having a 5-megapixel resolution and one in the front ideal for video calling. Its slim design will surely attract some attention wherever you go so keep your eyes on us, for any more news on that matter.
